I teach a variety of techniques suitable for one to multiple days.
Fabric Dyeing For Beginners: During this one day class you will dye three yards of 60" wide fabric. using your choice of two primary colors. Using my low water method the mess and fuss is minimized. This is a kit class. By the end of the day, you will know how to set up your own dye space at home and learn where to buy everything you need to dye more fabric once you see how easy it is.
Color and Value: During this one day class you will learn how valuable the color wheel is. Anyone who creates visual art or traditional quilts is well served to know how it works. This is a non sewing class and is really fun when held in a quilt store with thousands of bolts of fabric to use as class samples.
Great Endings: Better bindings and easy facings. In this half day class you will learn how to apply bindings of different widths with mitered corners and my way of facing my art quilts.
Machine Quilting Basics: This class is for anyone who wants to learn how to machine quilt. In this class you will learn what needles, threads, battings to use and techniques for free motion quilting and machine guided quilting along with the tools , gadgets and tips that make machine quilting easier.
The small wall quilt shown is an example of creating art in this manner. You can use either hand dyed or commercial cotton fabric sandwiched and quilted then you will add trees or any thing else you want with acrylic paint or Pigmented inks. This class does not require a lot of skill and can be completed in a one day class with the binding or facing added at home.

Dye Painting: Learn how to use thickened dye to paint whole cloth compositions. This is a one day class using my kit and pattern or multi-day when creating your own images.
Screen Printing. In this class you learn how to make your own screen and printing surfaces. During this multi-day workshop the emphasis will be placed on creating who cloth compositons using traditional and innovative screen printing techniques. Combined with the Dye Painting workshop these two class make an ideal retreat program.
Flowers in the Round. I offer this class as a one day session if the pattern for the wall quilt pictured to the left is used. I can also offer this class as a full kit class with me providing all the fabrics needed to complete a top. Combined with a machine quilting class and the Great Endings workshop, this would be a fun filled 3-4 day workshop for beginning level quilters. For the more advanced this could be a design and composition class with each student designing his/her own quilt with instructions for completion or as a multi-day class wherein the students could make significant progress toward completion of a large finished work.
Flowers on a Grand Scale
Learn to make my signature flowers in a one day or during several multi-day class offerings.
"Orange Bloom" Quilt pictured to the left is offered as a one day class. This project can be a kit class as shown using my hand dyed cotton fabric. .
"Red Bloom" and "Yellow Bloom" pictured above are both two day workshops if you work fast but can be extended to three days in retreat situations for a more relaxed class. Both project cover techniques for making multi-fabric backgorunds, machine applique and thread painting. Techniques for creating highlights and shadows will be covered. Can be a kit class if offered in a quilt shop or if organizer prefers.
